HOW DO YOU PUT ON THE HAIR JEWELRY?

Coils:

Once you find out your coil size, coils can slide right up or down your hair.

Cuffs:

The adjustable cuffs can be squeezed or pulled apart in order to fit a desired size. The bigger the Twist, Loc, or Braid, the less likely the cuff will fully close.

Rings:

-->Pull the ring apart until there’s about 3/4 of an inch of space. Hold the ring in both hands and gently pull the seam apart so there’s space in between it. Try not to bend the ring out of shape so that it stays in a nice circle If you pull too much, you'll have a harder time putting it back together later.

-->Push one end of the ring into your hair until it goes through. For locs, it's recommended to push the rings through your new growth (closer to roots. NOT through mature locs).

-->Gently press the ends of the ring together so they form a circle.

WHEN CAN I START WEARING LOC JEWELRY?

It is recommended to wait until at least 6 months from starting your loc journey or until your locs form to be able to wear loc jewelry. The more mature your locs are the better.  If you wear loc jewelry too soon, it can interrupt the locking process and cause lumps, thinning and weak spots in your locs.

WHAT SIZE JEWELRY DO YOU OFFER?

5 mm
7mm (pencil size)
10 mm
12 mm (Sharpie)
15 mm
18 mm (EXPO marker)

ARE THE HAIR JEWELS ONLY FOR LOCS?

Of course not! Twists and Braids are suitable for the jewels as well. All you have to do is pick your correct coil size.

WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN PERMANENT AND TEMPORARY HAIR JEWELRY?

Simply Loc'd makes temporary hair jewelry which you can easily remove and reattach whenever you want. This is a better option to permanent hair jewels if you don’t want to tarnish the hair jewelry, if you wash your hair often, or if you like to switch up the different styles of jewels.

With permanent hair jewelry, it's typically attached to the ends of your hair by threading (like loc sprinkles). You'd be able to keep the jewelry in when you shower, sleep, or retwist your locs.

HOW DO YOU PUT IN COWRIE SHELLS?

There are multiple ways to put in cowrie shells. Depending on the Loc/Braid/Twist size, you can either (1) pass your hair through the cowrie shell itself then secure it with a rubber band or you can (2) tie a rubber band to the cowrie shell and attach the rubber band to your hair.

(1) Fish end of hair through the back of the cowrie shell. If you can't push the hair through, you can use a bobby pin to guide your Loc/Braid/Twist. [You DO NOT have to pierce the ends of your locs.] Remove the bobby pin from your hair. Fold the end of your hair up and over the edge of the shell. Secure the shell by wrapping a small rubber band around your folded Loc/Braid/Twist.

(2) Thread a small rubber band through the hole in the center of the shell. If you can't push the hair through, you can use a bobby pin to guide your Loc/Braid/Twist. Create a knot by looping one end of the elastic through the other. Pick a position for the cowrie shell on one of your Locs/Braids/Twists. Secure the shell by wrapping a small rubber band around your folded Loc/Braid/Twist.

ARE YOU SHIPPING INTERNATIONALLY?
